Dr. C. Evers Whyte, Founder and Director
Dr. Whyte has practiced integrative medicine for the last 13 years. He is a non-surgical pain specialist and clinical nutritionist having successfully treated over 1500 hundred patients. Last year he became one of the first doctors in the United States to own and become Certified on the revolutionary Calmare Pain Therapy Device. His unique background in treating chronic pain patients coupled with this breakthrough technology has generated an over 90% success rate, to date. He is a former chronic pain sufferer, himself, and is now dedicated to restoring a pain-free quality of life without harmful and addictive drugs to all qualified sufferers.
The New England Center For Chronic Pain
The exclusive regional provider for Calmare Pain Relief Therapy is located on Myano Lane in Stamford, CT, just across the border from Greenwich. We offer a warm and welcoming non-clinical environment. The facility has recently increased our capacity by 300% to meet the growing demand of chronic pain sufferers.
This FDA cleared MC-5A device treats many chronic pain conditions –all without expensive surgery or harmful and addictive drugs. Although this treatment is new to the United States, it is solidly grounded in years of intensive research, clinical trials and extensive FDA review. It has been used in Europe for a decade and is currently providing thousands of patients with safe, effective ongoing pain relief.
How Calmare Scrambler Therapy Works
Single use electrodes are applied to your skin, on either side of the area corresponding to the pain involved- Called, “affected dermatomes”.
A “dermatome” is a strip of skin that is connected to a specific nerve root that comes out of your spinal cord. After placing electrodes at the site of precisely determined dermatomes, patients receive precisely-administered low frequency currents of painless stimulation that effectively “scrambles,” or mixes up, the pain signal. Patients experience near instant relief from their pain!
Over a series of consecutive treatments your central nervous system naturally accepts the “no-pain” message from our device as one of normality. The new “pain-free” state replaces the “pain” state, and your brain adapts to hold the new perception. Unlike other types of electrical stimulation therapies, which primarily treat musculoskeletal pain, the Calmare Scrambler Therapy has been shown to be effective in treating chronic, neuropathic and oncologic pain. In addition, Calmare Scrambler Therapy provides significant pain control and sustained relief over time whereas other treatments fail to do this. Most success is achieved within 10-12 consecutive 45 minute treatment sessions over the course of 2 weeks, followed up with one additional “booster” treatment session every 60-90 days, if needed.
THE SCIENCE OF CALMARE THERAPY: Single use electrodes are applied to the skin area corresponding to the pain involved. A “dermatome” is a strip of skin common to all people that is supplied by or connected to a specific nerve root that comes out of your spinal cord. After placing electrodes at the site of precisely determined dermatomes, patients receive precisely administered low frequency currents of painless stimulation through the skin to the nerve root that effectively “scrambles,” or mixes up, the pain signal.
